   Edirne’ den Konstantiniyye’ ye tozlu topraklı yollarda ney, nakkare, davul sesleriyle yürüyen yüzbinler, yeniçeriler, atlılar, kağnılar, toplar ve koca Serdar. Tüm Avrupa bu kalabalığın seslerini merakla dinliyordu. Rönesansa kadar uzanacak bu çetin yolda tarih yeniden yazılıyordu.

   Hundreds of thousands of janissaries, cavalrymen, oxcarts, gun carriages, and the Great Sovereign himself marched on a dirt road from Edirne to Constantinople amid sounds of nay, kettledrum, and drums. The entire Europe listened curiously to the voices of this multitude. History was being rewritten along this arduous journey, which was to last until the Renaissance.

Hepsi ona aynı şeyi fısıldıyordu sanki…..

Parlayan güneş tepede tüm ruhunu sıcacık sarıyordu.” Her şey işte şimdi başlıyor ! ” diye düşündü. Yapılacak çok şey vardı ama rüyalar gerçekleşmek için çok beklemişti.He looked at his city calmly to his heart’s content for the first time after the conquest. All despairs and worried had been drowned in the waters of the Bosporus forever. The shining sun above wrapped his entire soul warmly. ” It is just beginning, ” he thought. There was much to be done and he had waited for so long to turn dreams into reality.

   A New Life:
   Tüm şehir yeniden kuruluyordu adeta, yepyeni camiler, medreseler ,kütüphaneler, hastaneler, kervansaraylar yeni sahipleriyle buluşuyordu. Filozoflar, Ressamlar, Astrologlar, Şairler ve niceleri ruhlarındaki coşkularıyla hep birlikte çağı değiştiriyorlardı. Rönesansın ilk kıvılcımları ateşe dönüşmek üzere idi.A whole city was virtually being rebuilt. New mosques, madrasahs, libraries, hospitals, and caravansaries met their new owners. Philosophers, artists, astrologists, and poets relied on their spiritual joy to usher in a new age. The first sparks of the Renaissance were about to light a blaze.

7. Rumeli Hisarının yapılışı:
   The Building of Rumeli Castle:
   Eski Hermes tapınağının bulunduğu yerde toplandılar. “ İlk günün şerefine beraber çalışalım ” dedi ve kırk elli okka ağırlığındaki kayaları omuzlarında taşıyarak duvar inşasına başladı.Tüm ahali onun bu gayretini gördü ve “ İstediği zamandan evvel bu hisar tamamlanacaktır ” diye ona söz verdiler.

   They gathered together where the former Temple of Hermes stood. He said, ” Let us work together to mark the first day ” and started the construction of the wall by carrying stones weighing 60-65 kilos upon his shoulder. Everybody saw how he toiled and promised “to finish this castle before the deadline he set.”

   Lady Zeynep’ s Secret Love:
   Fatih döneminin kadın şairlerinden ve Fatih’ in huzuruna peçesiz çıktığı rivayet olunan Zeynep Hatun’ un herkesten gizlediği ” Fatih ” e olan aşkını anlatan dizeleri.

   Lady Zeynep was one of the women poets of the Conqueror’ s time. She is reputed to have appeared before his royal presence without a veil. The lines below express her secret love for the Conqueror.

   Destan yazan yüzbinler sonunda başardılar. Surlar artık imkansız gelmiyordu onlara. O ise ” Herşeye değdi ” diye düşünüyordu. Tersa güzel artık onundu. Kulaklarında ılık bir nağme beliriverdi ansızın; onun aşkını anlatan bir makamda gezinen hayali bir güzelin nağmeleri. Cesaret, inanç ve kahramanlık Konstantiniyye’ nin ve dünya tarihinin akışını değiştiriyordu.

   The legendary troops - who were in the hundreds of thousands - had done it at last. The city walls no longer looked insurmountable. He on his part thought, ” It was worth everything. ” The beautiful Tersa was his now. A warm melody rang in his ears suddenly, the tunes of an imaginary beauty who recounted his love. Courage, faith, and heroism were changing the fate of Constantinople and the course of world history.

    Bilginler bilginini bulmak için Ankara’ ya geldi. Karşısına hiç ummadığı bir aşık, şair ve başı dumanlı bir derviş çıktı. Bu zat çarşıda pazarda ilahiler deyişler okuyor, halktan para topluyordu. Aleme el açan bir derviş ona ne verebilirdi? Sordu soruşturdu, “ muhtaçlar, borçlular için yardım toplar ” dediler ama nafile.Tekrar yola koyuldu. Halep’ te geceledi. Ve hem onu hem de tarihi değiştirecek rüyayı işte o gece gördü. Rüyasında boynunda bir zincir vardı, ucu uzaya uzaya taa Ankara’ ya varmıştı ve Hacı Bayram’ ın elinde idi. Döndü hemen Ankara’ ya, yemek vakti varmıştı köye. Dervişler ona bakmadılar bile, yemekler pay edilip artan köpeklerin çanaklarına kondu. Masada istenmediğini anlayan çırak gitti köpeklerin kasesinden yemeye başladı. Bu hal dervişlerin ve Hacı Bayram’ın yüreğine dokundu ve o andan sonra onu da aralarına aldılar.

    He came to Ankara to find the sage of sages. He met, to his surprise, a bard, a poet, a hoary dervish who recited religious songs and sayings among the populace and collected money. What could a dervish who begged for alms have to give him? He did his inquiries. They told him that they raised money for the needy. In vain did they vouch for him. He hit the road again. He spent the night in Aleppo. It was that night he had the dream that was to change him and history itself forever. He dreamt that there was a chain around his neck which extended all the way to Ankara and was held by Haji Bayram. He returned to Ankara forthwith. He came to the village at noon. The dining dervishes did not care to look at him. They shared the food and deposited what was left of it in the dogs’ bowl. Seeing he was unwanted at the table, the apprentice began to eat out of the bowl. This went to the heart of the dervishes and Haji Bayram and they let him join them then.

12. Ayasofya yakarışları:
    Hagia Sophia Prayers:
    Gece Ayasofya’ daki son ayinden sonra Bizans halkı Hz.Meryem’ in heykelini sokaklarda dolaştırıp ona dua ettiler. İşte o anda ürpertici bir rüzgar peydah oldu ve dev heykel korkunç bir gürültüyle paramparça yere kapandı. Dua sesleri çığlıklara karıştı ve ümitler heykelin parçacıkları gibi rüzgarda uçuşup yok oldu.

    The people of Byzantium prayed to the Virgin Mary and carried her statue after the last service in Hagia Sophia. Then came a frightening wind and slammed the giant statue to the ground, smashing it to pieces with a horrible sound. The voices of prayer turned into shrieks of fear and hopes blew away like the shattered pieces of the statue.

    Valekerna Nuns:
    Sarayın boş koridorlarında artık rumca konuşan asiller yoktu, sadece yerde azizelerin kırık çerçeveli resimleri. Hepsi öylece bir noktaya gözlerini dikmiş bakıyorlar şimdi.

    Nobles who spoke Greek walked in the palace no more. There were only pictures of nuns with broken frames. They all stared in one direction.
